Red Wood Iaito Wakizashi by John Lee

Due to permanent demand, the Red Wood Iaito wakizashi is from now available in two different lengths. The name "Red wood" is derived from the dull, brownish-red lacquered scabbard, in which the grain of the wood is still clearly visible.

The blade is made of 420 stainless steel in Shinogi zukuri style, it has a hand forged and dull blade with fuller (Bo-Hi). The handle is wrapped in black cotton in classical Hineri maki-style and is underlayed with genuine ray skin. It comes with red-brown, matt lacquered scabbard (Cha Ishimi-style) with visible wood grain.

The blade has a long tang, which is fixed in the handle by two bamboo pins (Mekugi). The sword can be thus taken completely apart. It consists of no plastic parts, only high-quality authentic materials are used.

The habaki and seppa are made of brass. Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira are made of metal.
