This is a complete set of parts for a japanese sword handle | grip incl. Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira and winding. In principle, this handle is suitable for any John Lee sword, but the drilling for the Mekugi itself must be done by the buyer. The task of Mekugi is to ensure a strong connection between the grip and the blade. There are two holes (Mekugi Ana) in the handle and also in the blade tang. Katana handle John Lee (Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira, ray skin and wrapping), brown leather

  • Lined with genuine ray skin
  • Total length approx. 311mm
  • The outer dimensions of the oval metal frame (Fuchi) approx. 40.2 x 23.5mm
  • The opening in the handle for inserting the blade tang (Nakago) measures approx. 28 x 6.2mm
  • Under the winding (tsuka ito) are two pieces of genuine ray skin (same), approx. 28.3mm wide and approx. 280mm long
  • On each side of the handle is one ornament on the tsuka to fit into the palm for grip (Menuki), which is approx. 56mm long
  • The cross section of the wood core (ho) is approx. 37.5 x 16.1mm
  • The metal end cap on the handle (kashira) has a cross section of approx. 35 x 20.5mm
  • The handle wrapping (Tsuka Ito) is approx. 276mm long
