Moro Islamic Armour

Filipino Muslim Moro Islamic Armour, 18^th - 19^th century

The armor consists of the following parts:

1. Cuirass - armor for the trunk made of hand hammered steel with brass fittings
2. Helmet (Kulah khud) – steel helmet with brass fittings and iron and brass aventail
3. Vambraces (BAZU BAND) - armour for the forearms made of well hand hammered steel, trimmed with brass

Specifications

• gauge of the steel plate: 1.5mm (17)
• the steel plate has blackened finish
• gauge of the brass plate: 1.5mm (17)
• the rings have diameter 7mm and are made of 1.6mm thick wire
• the mail rings are not riveted
• weight approx. 22 kg
