Incendiary arrowheads

Incendiary arrows were often used to cause the enemy great hardship. For example, the Hussites often used incendiary arrows to cause extensive fires, as in the sieges of Bautzen in 1429 and 1431. Although the city was able to successfully defend itself against the assault, contemporary accounts show extensive fires in the city. Another "typical" example of the use of incendiary bolts was on 14 September 1429, when they were used in a bloody feud between the citizens of Prague's Old and New Towns. It is said that barbed firebolts were also used in the infantile dispute, which caught on the roofs of houses and caused major fires.
