Shintai are objects, which play the role of relics in religious sites. In the Japanese mythology they are considered to be the domicile of the gods (Kami). The sword is among mirror and gems (the Japanese throne regalia) a typical shintai.The katana has a handforged blade made of carbon steel with a fine hamon and has been tempered traditionally. In addition, the steel of the blade has been folded 12 times, that means about 8000 layers have been created which give the sword a beautiful damascus pattern. The sharp blade features a hi (fuller) to reduce the total weight. The tsuba features Japanese gods. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, has been coated with real fish skin and features two menukis. In addition, it has been traditionally wrapped in black cotton. The tang is especially long and fixed with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). The scabbard (saya) is made of wood and the blade collar (habaki) is made of brass. This katana has been made according to original museum exhibitions. Scharf ausgeschliffene Damastklinge aus 12- fach gefaltetem 1045 Kohlenstoffstahl mit über 8.000 Lagen. Klinge im Shinogi-Zukuri-Stil mit Hohlkehle (Bo-Hi) mit eingearbeiteter Hamonlinie. Griffwicklung aus hellbrauner Baumwolle im klassischen Hineri-Maki-Stil. Schwarze, hochglanz lackierte Scheide (Kuroro-Stil) aus Holz. Mit langer Angel, welche mit 2 Bambusstiften (Mekugi) im Griff fixiert ist. Das Schwert ist somit voll zerlegbar. Es wird kein Kunststoff verwendet, es kommen nur hochwertige, authentische Materialien zum Einsatz. Klingenzwinge (Habaki) und Unterlegscheiben (Seppa) sind aus Messing. Die traditionelle Griffwicklung ist mit echter Rochenhaut unterlegt. Alle Zierrate (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) sind aus Metall. Lieferung erfolgt mit Schutzhülle aus Stoff und in einer ansprechenden Sammlerbox. Jedem original John Lee Schwert liegt ein Siegel, sowie ein Zertifikat bei.
