Leather Journal Diary "Queen of the Night" Goddess Ishtar

  • Dimensions approx. 20.5 * 16 * 5 mm
  • Weight approx. 538 g
  • The leather journal contains 200 pages (100 sheets) of paper according to photos.

Design and execution:

The diary is bound in brown leather covers with a rustic, worn look that gives it a touch of antiquity and authenticity. The front features a detailed relief depicting the goddess Ishtar, surrounded by symbols of her power and mystery. Inside you will find irregular sheets of paper, torn and bound by hand. Their yellowish colour and uneven edges are reminiscent of old parchment and invite you to stick in notes, drawings or even dried flowers. The diary is securely closed with a metal clasp (buckle) made of brass with an antique design. The robust, stitch-reinforced binding on the spine ensures that the diary will withstand frequent use.

Queen of the night symbolism:

The relief on the cover of the diary draws you into the world of Mesopotamian mythology. It depicts Ishtar (Inanna in Sumerian), the goddess of love, war, fertility and wisdom. Every detail has its own meaning:

  • The naked, winged figure: her nakedness symbolises her connection to fertility and life force, while her wings refer to her divine origin and her ability to cross the boundaries between worlds.
  • Headdress: The ornate headdress is a sign of royalty and divine power.
  • Rolled objects in the hands: They represent bundles of rods symbolising authority, justice and law.
  • Standing on lions: Ishtar stands on lions, symbols of strength, courage and royal power. He thus demonstrates his dominion over these powerful forces. Lions are also her sacred animals.
  • Owls on the sides: Owls, nocturnal birds associated with wisdom, intuition, secrets and the underworld, show Ishtar's connection to magic and the ability to see what is hidden. They can also symbolise death, as Ishtar is also the goddess of war.
  • "Queen of the Night": This title refers to Ishtar's dominion over the night, the moon, the stars and dreams, as well as her power over mysterious forces.
