Combat Bascinet with Removable Visor Black Knight
This Visored Combat Bascinet is made of 2mm or 1.6mm thick steel. The inside of the helmet is sprayed with black paint against corrosion. Inside, the helmet is equipped with a strong leather lining and leather cheek tongues, which are tied under the chin to hold the helmet on the head. The visor is secured in the folded position with a safety bolt on spring. In addition, the visor can be completely removed by pulling out the connecting pins at the hinges on the sides of the helmet. By removing the visor the closed Bascinet gets transformed into a normal open-face bascinet. More information...

Are you looking for a versatile, fully functional bascinet for your next tournament or battle? This model is inspired by several 14th century originals. We can mention a painting by Spinello Aretino from 1407-1408, a fresco in the Affresco camera Pinto in Spoleto, Italy, and the manuscript ‘La prima deca’ by Tito Livio, which is dated 1373 and is now in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan.
The carefully designed visor of the bascinet ensures good protection combined with good vision and ventilation. The helmet is available in two different finishes (blackened and polished) and in two different material thicknesses (1.6 and 2.0 mm).
Inside, the helmet is equipped with a firm and comfortable leather liner. With an approximate inner circumference of 68 cm, it fits almost all head sizes (with cap on). The helmet holds securely on the head thanks to the strong chin strap with brass buckle.
