The two halves of the gorget are riveted together on the left arm, then the gorget is closed on the right arm with a pin lock (the rivet head is inserted into the keyhole-shaped hole). Two leather straps lead from the collar to the sides, to which pauldrons can be attached if necessary.

The inside of the gorget is painted black to provide better protection against corrosion. This closed gorget with foldable bevor comes in a one size fits most adult men.

The closed gorget with foldable bevor has been carefully preserved with preservative grease before packing to prevent rusting (corrosion). Before first use, you should wipe off the grease with paper towels or a cotton cloth. You can also use a grease/oil removal spray. The outer metal surface should be cleaned, dried and preserved with WD40, Ballistol or another preservative oil for metals after each use.

This Gorget with Bevor is a perfect match for a sallet from the second quarter of the 15th century until the Renaissance, when the closed helmet was introduced.
