Persian War Ax Sagaris
This weapon was used by Persian warriors in close combat. The Sagaris was commonly used by cavalry units. It was light enough to be wielded with one hand, but could also penetrate metal armour and helmets. The Persian rider Spithridates almost killed Alexander the Great with the Sagaris at the Battle of Granicus.
The ax head is hand-forged from sturdy carbon steel, making it extremely strong and capable of serving for many years with judicious use. The handle is made of real teak and has a metal end cap. You can also sharpen this ax yourself. It is delivered with a not very sharp edge - with a thickness of approx. 1 mm.
