This helm style is based on the basinet/bacinet. You can also find some similarity to the sallet. It is distinguished by a prolonged helmet-bowl (flame-shaped neck protection). This type of helm/helmet is missing the visor, which was an advantage for the archers (unrestricted view). The whole edge of the helmet bowl is beaded and on the rear part a middle ridge is visible on the neck guard. More information...
