Renaissance one-handed sword Rhett, Class B
Sword class B.
An additional hand protection in the form of a decorative guard ring is welded on the hand-forged flattened guard.
The sword Rhett is strong and well balanced. It is well suited for reenactment and stage combat. To make the blade lighter, a fuller is milled on both sides, extending from the handle to about halfway down the blade. The core of the handle consists of a continuous blade tang lined with wood. The core of the handle is wrapped with a sturdy leather strap. The handle has a disc-shaped pommel with a wavy relief.
The blade is made of spring steel 54SiCr6. The steel is oil-quenched and tempered to a hardness of 54-56 HRC. Blades made of this steel are very tough (resistant to breakage) and flexible at the same time.
A custom-made scabbard can be ordered with this sword. It is made of 3 mm thick cowhide, stained black and treated with a special water-repellent solution. The sheath also includes a belt with a hand-forged buckle. The holes in the belt are cut for a waist circumference of approx. 103 - 133 cm.
