Gothic Pauldrons, Shoulder Guards, 15th c., 1.5 mm Steel, Pair

This wearable, articulated reconstruction of a late medieval plate armour for the shoulders is modeled on a German original from the 15th century (ca. 1465). The pauldrons (sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) are crafted from 1.5 mm thick steel and feature so-called besagues (or besagews) to protect the armpits. These movable steel rondels are attached to each shoulder piece with a sturdy leather cord and are adjustable in height. More information...

Gothic Pauldrons, Shoulder Guards, 15th c., 1.5 mm Steel, Pair

For proper freedom of movement, the sliding plates or lames are connected together by sturdy leather straps that are riveted on the inside. Each pauldron is equipped with an adjustable, approx. 2 mm thick leather strap with brass buckle for a comfortable, custom fit at upper arm level. Three holes positioned at the top edge allow for attachment to a breastplate or a gambeson (straps/cords are not included in delivery).

Equally suited for historical re-enactment, LARP or costuming, this articulated shoulder armour is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings and will make your portrayal of a proud knight just perfect!
