Medieval Gorget with Pauldrons, 14th C., 1.6 mm Steel
This wearable, articulated reconstruction of a late medieval plate armour for the neck (gorget) and shoulders / upper arms (pauldrons, sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) is hand-forged from 1.6 mm thick steel. For proper freedom of movement, the pauldrons’ sliding plates or lames are connected together by sturdy leather straps that are riveted on the inside. The shoulder parts are removable and close at upper arm level with an adjustable leather strap and brass buckle for a comfortable, custom fit.
