Leather bracers with steel splints, 14th-15th Century

Inspired by originals from the 14th and early 15th centuries, these reinforced leather bracers utilize the leather and steel combination typical of the brigantine for good body protection while maintaining the mobility.

These bracers are exquisitely designed and handcrafted by skilled artisans using 3.2-3.5mm thick buffalo leather and lightweight 1.5mm thick mild steel splints. They lace up easily over a doublet or gambeson. They are available in one size fits most. The soft suede lining on the inside ensures hours of comfort.

Note: The steel splints on the bracers are carefully preserved with oil before packaging, which acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust). The oil can be easily removed with any oil remover or wiped with a dry cloth.
