British Army Baker Rifle, 1806, with flintlock
Here we offer a replica of the famous Baker rifle, based on a model from 1806, with flintlock. This rifle has been used by the rifle corps of the British Army (the riflemen, wellknown because of their green jackets) during the Napoleonic Wars. In about 1798 the master gunsmith Ezekiel Baker got the order to design a new weapon for this corps. 2 years and a few models later the Baker Rifle was placed into production. It consisted of a 76cm long barrel with seven rectangular grooves to impart spin to the projectile for improved flight stability. That’s why the Baker Rifle had an extraordinary longrange with high accuracy. For a few decades this weapon has been used not only by British snipers but as well by American and other foreign regiments that were supported by the British Army. More information...

British Army Baker Rifle, 1806, with flintlock
The rifle has a simple folding backsight with the standard large lock mechanism with goosenecked cock. Like the German Jager Rifle it has a scrolled brass trigger and a patch box covered with a brass plate.
Bernard Cornwell, the famous author of the novel Sharpe’s Rifles owns one of those authentic replicas.
Our muzzleloader replicas are intended for decoration and re-enactment. The muzzle has not been drilled, so the weapon is not functional. However, an expert gunsmith is able to drill the muzzle and make it to a functional gun. You should check with your authorities if this is legal in your country.
A beautiful item for every collection and an indispensable accessory for reenactors.
