Scabbard for Sting, the Sword of Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit
The Original Scabbard for the Movie-Sword Sting, made by United Cutlery.
Sting is the magical short sword from the legendary city of Gondolin. On their harrowing journey, Bilbo and his companions came upon a troll lair in Rhûdaur where they found two Elven swords and a knife. Bilbo claimed the latter for himself, which, to someone of his stature, was more of a sword. It ultimately saved his life in his fight against the Giant Spiders of Mirkwood, and he wielded it through most of his quest. Sixty years later, Bilbo bestowed the sword upon his nephew Frodo.
The blade of the sword glows blue when Orcs draw near. On the blade and the guard, the following Tengwar-runes are engraved in Sindarin the language of the Grey Elves:
Maegnas aen estar nín dagnir in yngyl im (= Sting is my name; I am the spider's bane).
The Sting sword scabbard is leather-wrapped and features Elbish ornaments made of solid metal.
Scabbard's upper band and chape made of solid metal with antique finish and Elven fittings. High-quality leather wrapping and leather belt strap.
- Overall length: approx. 47.62cm
