Kimen Knife, Outdoor Knife for Children, Condor
Condor's Kimen Knife, whose name is derived from the South American indigenous Mapudungun language, which roughly translates as teach, learn, was designed by Survival expert Walter A. Matthews with the primary aim of introducing children to the basic principles of Bushcraft and Survival. For increased safety, this fixed knife therefore has a rounded blade tip and an ergonomically contoured handle. In addition, the pronounced integral hand guard prevents fingers from slipping onto the sharp cutting edge during use. More information...

Kimen Knife, Outdoor Knife for Children, Condor
Of course, this compact outdoor knife is also suitable for adults, e.g. as a supplementary working knife for all kinds of tasks in the great outdoors whether at the camp site, while hiking or even in the garden at home.
The Full-Tang knife has a sharpened drop-point blade with a neat belly. It is made of carbon steel 1095 (a stable steel with good sharpenability) and has a Scandi sharpening, which is quite popular with bushcrafters because it is very suitable for woodworking and allows easy re-sharpening even in the field. The blade still shows traces of forging, which give the knife a rustic look.
The walnut grip plates are fixed to the blade with 2 brass rivets. White liners form a beautiful, discreet contrast to the darker wood tone of the shells. At the end of the grip there is a generous bore with an inserted brass sleeve to hold a lanyard.
A beautiful handmade scabbard made of strong leather with belt loop (max. belt width approx. 4.5cm) is included.

As wood is a natural product, each knife has its own very unique handle! Variations in wood colour and grain are quite common, and above pictures are thus for reference only.
The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain the blade on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
