This pair of Chainmail Sleeves is to be stitched on a jerkin, Gambeson or other outfit. The chainmail armor is worn under the plate armor to cover unprotected gaps between the plates. Indigent warriors can wear the chain sleeves without plate armor. While these arm and shoulder guards will not protect them perfectly, they will not have to carry the weight of a plate armor, making them more agile on the battlefield.

It is a kind of gutter made of chain-mail-mesh. It is to be stitched to the sleeves from the bottom and the sides of the padded jack or gambeson. The chain parts protect the trunk from the sides and partly from the front and from behind. The arms are protected from below and partly from the front and from behind.
