Chainmail Hauberk - Alternating Dome Riveted Flat Rings

1x

Mild Steel, Flat Ring, Round riveted (Alt), 9mm, 17gauge | This chainmail hauberk is crafted from dome riveted flat rings which alternate with solid flat rings. The individual rings of mild steel measure 9mm in diameter and 17 gauge in thickness. This method of alternating riveted mail with solid rings punched from sheets of steel was a historical method used in much mail construction. It saved a great deal of time by circumventing the need to rivet half the rings. More information...

I like this hauberk very much, it is very solid, the mesh is dense and gives a really nice look, it has even a bit of tailoring as there is a reduction of the sleeves, and it came well oiled, i use a thick gambeson underneath for fights. The downs are that some rivets are lose, and tend to fall down when hit, but the rings stay well in place, and that the rings for reduction of the sleeves are hanging and therefore tend to catch other rings while fighting. I recommend to configure thes hanging rings by putting them in 6 in 1 and not 4 in 1, that's what I did, and now it's good, I might do a bit tailoring under the sleeves and the elbows. To sum it up, a very nice and sturdy hauberk for this range of price!
