Sallet Bosworth, 1485
A sallet at its high form with the typical "S" curve of the rear part of the helmet bowl when viewed from the side. This form of the Schaller corresponds to the penultimate decade of the 15th century. The one-piece lift-up-visor covers the entire face from the chin up. The top edge of the visor is elegantly cut in waves and in the closed position fits closely to the front of the helmet bowl. The sight (observation slit) in the visor is of sufficient size and offers adequate outlook. The lower edge of the helmet bowl and of the visor is smoothly bent. The full-face visor is locked in the closed position with a steel bolt on spring (also called as push-pin) and is so secured against opening when running e.g. The heads of the bolts on which the visor is mounted are decoratively notched. High quality handicraft by a Czech master-armourer. More information...
