This bascinet visor evolved from a simpler version that had no visor (1st half of the 14th century). The helmet is made of steel plate. The circumferentially attached steel tubes allow the attachment of a aventail. It comes with a linen liner inside.It is fully battle ready ! The klappvisor is attached with a hinge at the front center of the helmet bowl and is removeable. That is why i tis called "klappvisor bascinet". More information...

Klappvisor Bascinet 1370 after an original from Valeria Castle in Sitten (Switzerland)

  • This helmet is handmade from steel plate and welded.
  • The helmet comes with a comfortable, padded cloth liner.
  • Available in several sizes or exactly made-to-measure.
  • Aventail from stainless steel wire 1.6mm thick, inside diameter approx. 12mm
  • Weight approx. 3.75 kg – 1,5mm plate thickness, incl. aventail

This helmet can be made to measure after your measurements ‘1a’ to ‘1j’ in this measurement chart.
