Kite Shield, triangle shield
A kite shield was a distinct type of shield from the 10th–13th centuries. It was either a reverse teardrop shape or later on, flat-topped. The tapering point extended down to either a distinct or rounded point. This kind of shield was used in most parts of The Europe. The teardrop shape was favorable for riders, because the lower tip of the Kite shield protects the rider's leg. But they were also used by foot soldiers who could compile a shield wall from them.
